Proverb + Prajwala

Proverb believes in empowered women empowering women. We donate 10% of every purchase to Prajwala: a pioneering anti-trafficking organization that has battled sex-trafficking and sex crime in India for over twenty years.

Prajwala’s story is incredible. Lead by the visionary Sunitha Krishnan, Prajwala has become one of the most powerful forces fighting this rampant evil. Krishnan and her staff work tirelessly not only to rescue victims of sex-trafficking, but also aid in their rehabilitation after they’re safe and ready to begin life anew.

For Proverb, 10% is just the beginning. We hope to help these women even more in the near future. Currently, plans are already in place to hire three women as employees of Proverb. These women will be paid to stamp personalized messages on each bracelet ordered from our website. The funds they earn will help them build their lives as survivors and use their story to empower other women to do the same.

There is no greater pain than seeing innocent children hurt and exploited. Consequently, the Live Proverb family has teamed up with Sunitha Krishnan, a social activist from India and popular TED talk speaker to support Prajwala, or “eternal flame.” Prajwala is an NGO or non-governmental organization that rescues, rehabilitates and reintegrates sex-trafficked victims into society.

Prajwala is located in Hyderabad, India and there runs 17 schools for more than 5,000 children that have been rescued from brothels and other high risk situations for sexual exploitation. At it’s Asha Niketan center, Prajwala helps young victims prepare for a self-sufficient future.
